Listen to Episode 006 with Anna Van Tuinen here:
Anna had been making paper jewelry for a long time before her online business took off.
Initially, she focused on selling her hand-made products to women at craft fairs and boutiques as a hobby that added some additional income to her full-time job as a speech therapist.
Then, as she began getting more and more requests from men to have a custom piece made for their wives on their first wedding anniversary (since its customary to give a paper gift on this occasion), a light bulb went off in her head.
She realized that she was missing out on a tremendous opportunity and she needed to change her approach from focusing on selling her paper jeweler to women, to selling it to men instead!
Over the course of a weekend, Anna built her entire e-commerce store and website through Shopify and quickly uploaded some pictures (that she took with her iPhone) of some jewelry that she had previously made.
With a new value proposition and more strategic positioning, Anna went on to make $12,000 in her first 60 days.
You need to listen to this interview because Anna talks a lot about how she got started, what inspired her to dive into an e-commerce business without having a business background, and how to create a customer experience that leaves your buyers wanting more.

But, they looked at me and said "Anna, you're going to sell $10,000 in a month". Hearing somebody successful tell me I was going to be successful too made me feel like it was really possible."
